Pottery is considered the oldest, most widespread and best-known craft in Petrinja due to the high-quality deposits of clay. In Petrinja, the tradition of pottery and ceramics is very strong, long and rich so that Petrinja was widely known for its potters and diverse clay products. Thanks to the abundance of very high quality red-toned clay in the area along the Kupa and skilled craftsmen, pottery has been for centuries the most widespread trade, and starting with 1775, Petrinja’s potters were gathered in a pottery guild. During the summer months, Petrinja hosts various cultural programs. Due to a very long and rich tradition of pottery and ceramics, Petrinja is widely known for its potters and pottery products. Therefore, FLIK – Pottery and Ceramics Festival is held in the summer at the Town beach with various workshops for children and adults as well as for professionals and artists.
